Automotive SURFACES 2018

Automotive SURFACES 2018

Eurecat participates in the Automotive SURFACES 2018 Advances in Decorative & Functional Automotive Surfaces that will take place on December 12 and 13 in Berlin. Paul Lacharmoise, director of the technological unit Functional Printing & Embedded Devices of Eurecat, will make an intervention on Printed Electronics as the next generation for automotive interior design.

16:15   Printed electronics: next generation of interior design
Dr. Paul Lacharmoise,
Director of “Functional Printing & Embedded Devices” Technology Unit, Eurecat Technology Center

  • Sensors, optoelectronic devices and electronic components manufactured by printing and coating techniques – how they are forecasted to change dramatically the way electronics are embedded into new products in many application areas
  • How in mold electronics drives the technology even further through the embedment of printed foils in 3D plastic objects
  • These technologies are set to revolutionize the interiors of vehicles with increased surface design freedom and performance while reducing manufacturing complexity

About the conference:

The conference, organised by Plastics News Europe, looks at the latest automotive interiors and electronics innovations and provides delegates with the opportunity to learn about the latest materials, innovative technology and manufacturing techniques in automotive surfaces.

Smart surfaces, both interior and exterior, are being developed rapidly to reflect consumer need for functionality, style and feel. Smart coatings have been the focal point to produce desired surface properties and create added value for the user. New market trends in smart surfaces and technology are developing, including a broad range of applications that can respond to changes in the ambient environment, which look to capitalise on the recent success of smart coatings.
