The ARGUS project develops intelligent and scalable solutions for the monitoring and management of cultural sites, making them resilient to present and future challenges.

The mission of ARGUS is orchestrated in five thematic pillars, from the development of digital and advanced measurement infrastructures to the promotion of sustainability and the involvement of communities.

By adopting a multidimensional strategy, ARGUS establishes a new paradigm in heritage preservation, characterized by its preventive, protective and mitigating strategies.

ARGUS drives new standards in heritage conservation by integrating satellite remote sensing, aerial and ground measurements, GIS-based spatial modelling, AI-powered predictive analytics and immersive realities for digital twins and advanced visualizations.

ARGUS is distinguished by its diverse selection of pilot sites, each with its own unique history and conservation challenges. From the ancient site of the island of Delos (Greece), to the medieval fortifications of Schenkenberg Castle (Switzerland), the picturesque town of Baltanás (Spain) or Monti Lucretili (Italy), ARGUS identifies the risks and threats and provides protection approaches for these cultural heritages.

Eurecat participates in the ARGUS project through the New Manufacturing Processes Unit, which leads data collection activities and supports the definition of requirements, overseeing all work package developments assisted by technical partners.

The interdisciplinary ARGUS consortium is coordinated by the Athena Research Center and is made up of 12 partners from six different countries.
