Artificial Intelligence (AI) embedded on surfaces and applications of the habitat sector.
The ARIES project studies the combination of hybrid, flexible and rigid electronics with the application of gesture recognition technology, using Artificial Intelligence in products from the habitat sector with the objective to adapt and adapt them to the new needs detected in the market. In this way, the project also allows that these products become intelligent objects capable of being integrated into the Internet of Things (IoT), as well as connectivity 4.0, and responding to the concerns shown by the population related to the interaction with elements of common use.
Nowadays, the combination of flexible electronics technologies and Artificial Intelligence in objects has only been tested in a laboratory environment, and separately, so it will be necessary to integrate flexible electronics into the elements of the companies participating in the project. Within the framework of the ARIES project, gesture recognition technology will also be tested in wooden furniture (bedhead) that allow to interact with the room in the new and different way, changing our interaction with the room and its spaces.
Eurecat participates, as a technical partner, in the project through its Functional Printing and Embedded Devices Unit, which will design not only touchless sensors for gesture recognition but also the control electronic unit and the AI algorithm as well. These electronic sensors will be meet the technical specification of the plastic switch from the company Jung and the wooden bed heads from the company Madersenia.
The project consortium is led by the Catalunya Habitat Cluster Association and also has the participation of Essenthia Madersénia and Jung, two partner companies of the cluster.
