Development of a European Platform for Regions to advance the digital transformation of public services, which allow collective Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data solutions.
The DT4REGIONS project aims to create a unique challenge-based innovation platform for the development of tools and services of public interest, putting the real needs of a network of regions at its heart. At the same time, it aims to enhance public administration efficienty and effectiveness in user-centered services.
The specific objectives of the project are:
- Raising awareness and knowledge about AI and Big Data applications for public services within public administrations and the regional ecosystem
- Stimulating peer to peer knowledge sharing among regions
- Increasing and enlarging policy discussions on topics of specific public interest
- Serving as a hub of a wide variety of data-related topics, such as open data, smart cities or digital skills, among others
- Fostering innovation through practical exercises, including two hackathons, based on the concrete needs of public administrations and citizens
Eurecat, who participates in the project through its Technology Consulting Department and the Big Data & Data Science Unit, is in charge of the activities of exploitation and sustainability of the results of the project, assesses the functionalities of the innovation platform and prepares a guide for its exploitation in other European regions.
The project consortium, coordinated by the Emilia-Romagna region (Italy) brings together 14 partners and 13 support organizations across Europe, including technical partners, public administrations and actors from the regional innovation ecosystem.
