Improving the abilities of gamers through a feasibility study of the development and application of performance measurement tools and physical and psychological processes.

The eSports-LAB project is born with the aim of carrying out a feasibility study on the development and application of performance measurement tools and physical and psychological processes of gamers (eSports or online sports players).

The purpose is to provide a tangible improvement of their abilities during practice in different disciplines of sports, whether they are professional or amateur players.

eSports-LAB aims to be the beginning of a continuous test bench that serves to design and experiment with innovative training systems that take into account all the aspects that can affect players in a holistic way; that is, not only the physical, but also the mental and the social with the environment.

Eurecat participates in the project through its Audiovisual Technologies Unit, which is in charge of analyzing facial and emotion recognition algorithms and searching for the appropriate databases. The Big Data & Data Science Unit is also participating, which will define which psychophysiological measures and experimental designs are most relevant to achieve the objectives of the different studies analysed.

Apart from Eurecat, the beneficiaries of the project are the INDESCAT cluster, the company ASOBU and the start-ups UNITED GAMERS and E-DOJO.
