FITTER-EU EURECAT

Addressing intersectional inequalities in Europe.

The FITTER-EU project develops an ecosystem that includes an interactive digital platform with an intelligent predictive decision support system to help policy makers mitigate the possible negative effects and impacts of twin transition on vulnerable social groups in four main sectors (agriculture, energy, mobility and housing).

In this sense, FITTER-EU anticipates future social problems through a methodology of creating scenarios for a more solid social Europe in the next 36 months.

Through this approach, the ecosystem enables policy makers to anticipate which social groups may be at risk of being adversely affected by twin transition policies under different scenarios, with the option to simulate the implementation of these policies to assess inequalities and social exclusion risks.

The digital platform provides proposals for mitigation measures and better practice guides that can be used to curve potential negative effects of policies on identified risk groups.

In addition, the FITTER ecosystem incorporates wider platform connectivity capability and better practice guides that, through a foresight engagement process, help meet the needs of the FITTER cluster community group of stakeholders.

The FITTER-EU consortium is led by the Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) and consists of 10 partners from six European countries.

Eurecat participates through its Consultancy Department, in charge of contributing to the identification of vulnerable groups, the creation of future scenarios and the analysis of potential negative impacts of the twin transition. To do this, co-creation and participation methodologies will be used: interviews with vulnerable groups and civil society, delphi surveys with experts and focus groups, among others.
