A solution for quality management in a production process and critical launch phases, which is oriented at sharing the information obtained between the components supplier and the end customer, with the objective of mitigating cost overruns and impacts on production.
During the Gescal project, the main characteristics of product quality were sensorized/monitored within the components manufacturing process, and a system was developed for managing quality control information according to the customer’s standards. The system acts immediately in the event of quality deviations, therefore sharing real-time information with the customer. The solution combines the technologies of big data, blockchaining and 3D printing.
The Gescal solution allows eliminating the gap that exists between supplier management and delivery of the results to the manufacturer by focusing quality management on aspects that have a real impact on the end customer and that might result in problems with claims in the market. The solution therefore eliminates quality control aspects that could be superfluous, and it orients suppliers towards real production problems (production stoppage, rejects) or problems that end customer satisfaction (malfunctioning, claims).
The Gescal project began in September 2018 and ended in March 2019, with a duration of 7 months. Coordinated by CIAC, the Automotive Cluster of Catalonia, it includes the participation of Tecnomatrix BCN, NISSAN, BETWEEN and Eurecat, which has cooperated on the project through its IT Security Unit, with large experience in cyber security systems, blockchain and cryptography for the management and transmission of information packages.
