LAIA HEALTH EURECAT

Improvement of care and monitoring of anxiety and depression disorders in women during preconception, pregnancy and postpartum.

Laia Health improves the approach to emotional disorders in women during maternity through a digital platform that acts as a training and support tool for both patients and healthcare professionals.

Laia Health seeks to address the growing challenge of maternal mental health, an area where the prevalence of emotional disorders is high (1 in 4 women) and detection capacity remains very low (less than 25%). These disorders can affect the cognitive development of the baby in its first weeks of life, highlighting the need for innovative solutions to improve prevention, detection and clinical follow-up.

As part of the project, an evaluation pilot will be carried out together with Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu (PSSJD), where the usefulness, use and satisfaction of healthcare staff and patients with the incorporation of Laia Health into routine clinical practice are analysed. In addition, technical improvements are made to the platform, including new functionalities and content focused on user training.

To enhance its analytical and predictive capacity, Laia Health counts with the collaboration of Eurecat, specifically its Digital Health Technology Unit, for the development of data models based on artificial intelligence. This lays the foundations for advanced analytics to help optimise the detection and monitoring of emotional disorders in maternity.

The project, coordinated by the company Qualud, is structured in different work packages covering project governance, pilot design, technology integration, study execution, results analysis and artificial intelligence development.

Laia Health represents a key step towards the clinical validation of an innovative platform in maternal mental health, with the potential to scale to other areas within mental health. With a multidisciplinary team combining clinical, technical and innovative expertise, the project aims to transform the way emotional disorders in maternity are addressed, offering a robust and reliable solution that complements healthcare and improves patients’ quality of life.
