MIRONINS EURECAT

Development of a new platform that allows augmented and interactive reality experiences.

The MIRONINS project aims to redesign the cultural experience involved in visiting a museum, through the transmedia narrative, gamification and the use of new technologies. MIRONINS develops a new platform that allows augmented and interactive reality experiences to create a new digital environment within the Joan Miró Foundation, in which the Mironins, a few small drops of paint that live inside Miró’s paintings, help children to introduce themselves in the art world and to boost their artistic abilities while having fun.

The innovation promoted by the project allows the development of content management systems (CMS) of augmented reality and interactive experiences, as well as binaural sound technology in this type of applications. In addition, MIRONINS promotes the creation of specific modules in artificial intelligence to be integrated into CMS and new forms of transmedia narration.

Furthermore, the platform offers new tools aimed at improving public learning within cultural spaces, creating a transversal dialogue between the world of entertainment, culture and technology.

The consortium is formed by Eurecat, which leads the project through its Audiovisual Technologies Unit, the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), the Joan Miró Foundation, Sfy, Wildbytes and Cornelius Films.
