Optiener Eurecat

Development and integration of technologies that allow the offer of energy control and optimization products for energy service companies of higher quality and performance than those currently available.

The project Optiener has the objective to develop two informatics tools, focused on the market of buildings in the tertiary sector, to support the users, both from the point of view of the installation design and its energy management during operation.

One of the tools developed is an optimized design environment and ESD facilities analysis tool to predict the energy demand associated to comfort services (air conditioning, ACS, electrical consumption) and integrates a decision support system for the optimization of the mix-energy (selection of equipment and dimensioning), considering the period of the operation of the facilities. The tool also includes the energy-economic balance of the proposed facilities and buildings.

On the other hand, the project creates a modular energy management tool (IEMS) which monitors, controls and manages the energy supply of a building. For this purpose, intelligent modelling algorithms, for the energy supervision and the optimization of resources and consumption, have been implemented. All this with the main objective of constituting a global energy management system that automatically acts, advices the best operation at every moment and alerts the user when possible anomalies are detected.

The consortium of the project is formed by Eurecat, the Centre MCIA of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and companies of the Group Soler.
