Robots on factory eurecat

Study and analysis of the problem of the use of the workspace by robot arms or mobile robots and their collaboration with workers.

The Robots on Factory project includes the design of robots with the aim of making them more suitable for spaces of small and medium-sized industries, as well as the implementation and learning of forms of movement and navigation that are safe for humans.

The Robotics and Automation Unit of Eurecat participates in the project by developing an external tissue (skin) that detects the proximity of the operator and allows direct human-robot interaction. In addition, it studies new concepts of collaborative grippers that facilitate flexible, safe and economical interaction.

On the other hand, the project includes the study and development of learning tools that have to facilitate the interaction between humans and robots, as well as the programming, training or demonstration of cases to make the user’s experience satisfactory. With this vision, the project is divided into three work packages:

  • Human and robot arms in non-differential environments
  • AGVs and humans in undifferentiated environments
  • Learning tools and information fusion

Robots on Factory is one of the 4 research projects promoted by the Looming Factory group, created with the objective of consolidating and guiding current research in the field of Industry 4.0.
