Investigation and development of a batteries system to feed electric lightweight quadricycles to adapt to current market requirements in terms of efficiency, durability and autonomy.
The SIBCLE project emerge from the analysis of current electric lightweight quadricycles and their technique characteristics related to the autonomy and security, which nowadays don’t have a good quality to be useful in market. So, currently there aren’t so many users of this type of electric vehicles, with punctual exceptions.
The project has developed, in prototype format, a solution to this problem detected through the design and development of an integrated and flexible battery system for lightweight quadricycles, plug & play type ready to electrify any car of this type, with a high autonomy of 20 – 25% higher than existing batteries, with a recharging capacity that allows it to reduce by half the time dedicated to it, and safety and durability benefits much higher than existing ones.
In addition, the project has advanced electronic connectivity capabilities, integrating in a single system a Battery Management System (BMS) of its own development and all electrical protection elements.
The project, led by the Moto Cluster, has been participated by Millor Battery, manufacturer of high-tech batteries and Eurecat, through its Sustainability Unit. Eurecat has been the main responsible of the development of the prediction algorithms according to the defined technical specifications and to perform the validation tests of the prototype.
