TEACH4SD EURECAT

Development, testing and validation of good practices in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

The TEACH4SD project mobilizes industry, research and innovation capacities and links them in new and innovative ways to the education and training sector.

TEACH4SD fully integrates and expands certified approaches to ESD in vocational education and training (VET) and higher education institutions (HEIs) across Europe, in collaboration with key industrial partners.

For successful transitions to sustainability, the guiding principle of TEACH4SD is to empower and educate teachers to take a leading role as agents of change and thus contribute to the European ambition of a socially just and equitable ecological transition.

The project has five working groups in Europe (Netherlands, Romania, Belgium, Denmark and Spain) that will be established as Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) responding to the needs and challenges of one of five sectors forming part of the backbone of the European labour market: health, trade, entrepreneurship, clothing & textiles, and construction. All of them will be linked through a Platform of European CoVE, which contains a Digital Hub for collaboration, networking and mobility around the ESD.

Each of the working groups is made up of three different partner typologies: HEI, VET and Industrial, corresponding in Spain to the entities Elisava (HEI), Eurecat (VET) and Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona (Industrial), with the focus on the clothing and textile sector.

Eurecat participates in the TEACH4SD project as a training centre through its Unit of Functional Textiles and its Training Department, which develop this educational environment around sustainable training practices, seeking to improve educational practices and contribute to the development of knowledge.
