Sustainable and innovative strategies related to urban waste management in order to improve quality of life in cities.
The Urbanwins project examines the impact that different urban elements have on waste generation in order to promote more efficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly cities. The programme will be tackled using a cross-functional approach to include the involvement of all parties responsible for waste management such as research groups, administrations, and citizens, who will be able to contrast their ideas and experiences in debates set up in the 24 cities from six European countries where the initiative will be launched.
Over 26 months, Urbanwins will compile the best waste management practices which will enable the development of the circular economy and create a new legislative framework on a European level to promote more efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly cities.
