The project aims to help the different decision-maker agents (car manufacturers, second-life battery users, recycling companies, etc.), in <strong>the end-of-life management process of the electric vehicle fleet <\/strong>that is expected to be deployed at European and global level in the coming years, as well as in all recycling and recovery operations at the end of these secondary uses.<\/p>\n<p>Eurecat participates in the project through the <a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/waste-energy-environmental-impact\/\">Waste, Energy and Environmental Impact Unit (WEEI)<\/a>, which provides the functionality analysis of spent automotive batteries; develops physical models for the classification of batteries; the development of chemical recycling for the recovery of metals and the economic and environmental analysis. The WEEI Unit also gives support in the evaluation of the real operation of second life batteries and the recovery of their main components. On the other hand, the project also counts with the participation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/robotics-automation\/\">Robotics and Automation Unit of Eurecat<\/a>, which participates in the automation of the dismantling process and the <a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/product-innovation-multiphysics-simulation\/\">Product Development Unit<\/a> which studies the manufacture of new Battery Packs with second life cells.<\/p>\n<p>The innovations promoted by the project will be validated in a plant situated in Melilla, the first of its kind worldwide, which allows the <strong>integration of second-life batteries into an electricity production plant to support the stability of the autonomous city&#8217;s electricity system<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>RECIBIL counts with a consortium formed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.endesa.com\/en\/about-endesa\/our-business\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Endesa Generaci\u00f3n<\/a>, which coordinates the project, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rmdsa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Recuperaci\u00f3n de Materiales Diversos<\/a>
