All of them deliver highly innovative recycling solutions, reaching high efficiency in the recovery of materials and improving the supply of secondary resources at European Union level.<\/p>\n<p>FREE4LIB will also offer <strong>technologies to improve 3 processes that aim at the reuse of metals and polymers and the synthesis of electrodes<\/strong> in the same value chain as secondary raw materials for the remanufacturing of greener batteries.<\/p>\n<p>The project will also study options to <strong>harness non-reusable elements in other fields<\/strong> and will deliver a methodology based on Battery Passport principles to improve process traceability.<\/p>\n<p>Eurecat participates in the FREE4LIB project through different Technology Units, in charge of different objectives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/robotics-automation\/\">Robotics and Automation Unit<\/a>. It will carry out studies on the automation of battery dismantling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/materials-metallics-ceramics\/\">Metals and Ceramic Materials Unit<\/a>. It will do metal recovery work (aluminum and copper) for additive manufacturing applications, in addition to ion implantation and coatings on electrodes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/waste-energy-environmental-impact\/\">Waste, Energy and Environmental Impact (WEEI) Unit<\/a>. It will provide support in life cycle studies and will be in charge of the hydrometallurgical recycling study of cells, as well as their characterisation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/product-innovation-multiphysics-simulation\/\">Product Innovation and Multiphysics Simulation Unit<\/a>. It will design 2nd life batteries for stationary energy storage use.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/it-ot-security\/\">IT&amp;OT Security Unit<\/a>. It will develop the battery passport.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/big-data-data-science\/\">Big Data &amp; Data Science Unit<\/a>. It will develop the cloud data platform.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/water-air-soil\/\">Water, Air and Soil (WAS) Unit<\/a>. It will analyse the dangers and operability of processes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The FREE4LIB consortium is made up, in addition to Eurecat, of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cartif.es\/en\/home\/\"
