Its main ambition is to conceive new design and processing guidelines for the advanced manufacturing of OPV modules.<\/p>\n<p>Research and innovation activities at LEGATO are arrenged into four major stages:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Selection of eco-friendly materials<\/strong> following transparency\/color criteria and compatibility with plastic processing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Module design and laser patterning process<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>OPV module manufacturing<\/strong> on rigid (glass) and flexible (plastic) substrates.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Integration of the flexible OPV modules into 3D plastic parts<\/strong> through thermoforming and\/or over-injection moulding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>LEGATO manufactures and integrates OPV modules in two specific use cases: transparent OPV on glass for power-generating windows and 3D-shaped OPV integrated on structural plastic parts for indoor IoT applications.<\/p>\n<p>LEGATO is a project coordinated by Eurecat\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/functional-printing-embedded-systems\/\">Functional Printing and Embedded Systems Unit<\/a>, which leads the design and manufacturing of the new OPV modules. The <a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/plastic-materials\/\">Plastic Materials Unit<\/a> works on the advanced integration of OPV modules into 3D shapes.<\/p>\n<\/div><div
