However, only <strong>little progress has been made in reducing its climate impact<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Among the various clean energy solutions, <strong>fuel cells are considered the most efficient solutions and are the basis of hydrogen-powered systems<\/strong>, aimed at meeting 24% of Europe&#8217;s energy needs by 2050.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proton exchange membranes (PEMFC) position themselves as the most promising candidate for transport applications<\/strong>, key to achieving the EU&#8217;s energy sovereignty, decarbonisation and decentralisation objectives.<\/p>\n<p>It is a manufacturing technology with low operating temperature, high power density, fast start-up capability and suitability for intermittent operation. It is capable of electrochemically converting the chemical energy of various fuels into electricity, by simply choosing catalysts in its MEA.<\/p>\n<p>Eurecat is the coordinator of the e-LEAF project through its <a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/functional-printing-and-embedded-devices\/\">Functional Printing and Integrated Systems Unit<\/a>, in charge of the development of a new technology for preparing components for fuel cells.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-1 fusion_builder_column_1_3 1_3 fusion-one-third fusion-column-last\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;width:30.6666%;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper
