building.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>OPTIMA<\/strong> project develops innovative systems to <strong>make the most efficient use of solar energy applied to self-consumption in the building<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The system proposed by OPTIMA presents competitive advantages regarding current roof-top installations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Greater electricity production per power and surface units<\/strong>, thus maximising the use of roofs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Greater linkage between the hours of generation and those of consumption<\/strong>, reducing energy dependence on the network and the necessary contracted power.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Greater efficiency in energy conversion<\/strong> through the use of the latest generation Wide Band Gap (WBG) electronic devices, which has a direct impact on higher production.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Eurecat participates in the OPTIMA project through the <a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/product-innovation-multiphysics-simulation\/\">Product Innovation and Multiphysics Simulation Unit<\/a>, in charge of designing a solar tracker, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/waste-energy-environmental-impact\/\">Waste, Energy and Environmental Impact Unit (WEEI)<\/a>, responsible for the production of a bifacial plate model for roof-tops and the verification of the experimental model.<\/p>\n<p>Besides Eurecat, the OPTIMA consortium is formed by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.isfoc.net\/index.php\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institute for Concentration Photovoltaics Systems (ISFOC)<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/mcia.upc.edu\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Motion Control and Industrial Applications Research Center of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (MCIA-UPC)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-layout-column
