High voltage lithium batteries with a higher energy density, a faster charge and a longer useful life.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The IntelLiGent<\/strong> project designs and develops electrode structures<\/strong>, supported by modelling, for a high energy density (>350 Wh\/kg) while maintaining fast charging capacities (>2C).<\/p>\n

IntelLiGent balances the need to include a high amount of active material in the structure of the electrode for high-energy while facilitating the transport of mass, power and heat for high-power operation.<\/p>\n

The project refines the strategies to stabilise the interfaces for a long cycle lifetime<\/strong>, focusing on the stabilisation of solid electrolyte interface (SEI) against mechanical degradation and attack from transition metals ions, and stabilising the interface between the electrolyte and high-voltage active materials by a tailored cathode-electrolyte interface (CEI). The IntelLiGent battery cell has a long life cycle (>2000 deep cycles) with 80% remaining capacity.<\/p>\n

IntelLiGent scales up sustainable and low-cost manufacturing processes<\/strong> using aqueous processing of cathodes and low-CO2 synthetic silica-graphene composite anode materials.<\/p>\n

Also, IntelLiGent encourages the acceptance of the solutions developed in adapting the results to commercial applications, along with guaranteeing compliance with the battery regulations of the European Union.<\/p>\n

Eurecat participates in the IntelLiGent project through the Waste, Energy and Environmental Impact (WEEI)<\/a> Unit, demonstrating the recyclability of the prototypes developed.<\/p>\n<\/div>
