logistics, automated pack and module dismantling and repackaging and a blockchain-enabled marketplace.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>RECIRCULATE<\/strong> project addresses the needs of the European recycling sector by overcoming current challenges relating to automated dismantling and sorting; safe logistics; fast, cost-effective, and reliable characterisation of the states of <strong>charge, health, power, energy and safety (SoX)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Combining these advances with a <strong>blockchain-based platform<\/strong>, that integrates the data collected during dismantling and recycling and the battery provenance, enables a <strong>unique battery passport <\/strong>and a<strong> virtual marketplace<\/strong> for e-mobility, consumer, and stationary Battery Energy Storage Systems.<\/p>\n<p>This approach enables the RECIRCULATE consortium to create a cascade approach that enables increased end-of-life battery repair, reuse, remanufacture and recycling.<\/p>\n<p>The advances in RECIRCULATE are based on best-in-world innovations, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Automated dismantling based on Artificial Intelligence<\/strong> with accurate sorting by states of SoX and battery provenance for recycling.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fast, cost-effective, reliable SoX characterization<\/strong>; Safe storage and transportation based on smart logistics solutions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Blockchain-based battery passports <\/strong>that track key battery data and enable both a completely circular system for e-mobility batteries and a unique, blockchain-based virtual marketplace.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The unique virtual marketplace allows the <strong>creation of new circular business models<\/strong> for repair, reuse, remanufacture and recycling second-life batteries, minimising cost, time, energy, and environmental impact whilst maximising battery value.<\/p>\n<p>The RECIRCULATE consortium, coordinated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.centria.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Centria<\/a>, is strengthened by very large organisations, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ford.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ford<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dhl.com\/es-en\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DHL<\/a>, as well as European SMEs with world-leading
