Pioneering sustainable solutions based on graphene to address environmental challenges.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The GIANCE<\/strong> project establishes a holistic, integrative and industry-driven platform with a clear focus on the improvement of sustainable materials and their real-world applications<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In this sense, GIANCE designs, develops and scales the next generation of multifunctional composites, coatings, foams and membranes based on graphene and derived materials (GRM)<\/strong>, so that they are profitable, sustainable, lightweight and recyclable.<\/p>\n

These advanced materials are designed to improve their performance, such as their thermal, mechanical and chemical properties<\/strong>, offering functionalities such as wear resistance, corrosion resistance, chemical and fire resistance, hardness, resistance to impact, high temperatures, control of structural integrity and low friction surfaces.<\/p>\n

Additionally, GIANCE advances manufacturing processes<\/strong>, improving synthesis and stability, and reducing environmental impact. These capabilities will create strong connections with end users, facilitating the development and preparation of commercial proposals at high levels of technological maturity (TRL).<\/p>\n

GIANCE will support 11 use cases<\/strong> applied to future technologies for different sectors, including automotive, aerospace, energy and water treatment.<\/p>\n

The GIANCE consortium, coordinated by Eurecat and with the participation of the technological units of Functional Printing and Embedded Systems<\/a> and Plastic and Composite Processes<\/a>, is made up of 23 partners from 10 different European countries.<\/p>\n

Specifically, Eurecat leads the use case for the development of printed graphene-based structural health sensors integrated into composite materials and participates in the validation of the use case of electrolyzers with graphene-based electrodes for the production of hydrogen.<\/p>\n<\/div>
