Feasibility study on the activation of sensitive capabilities in the surface materials of kitchen furniture to accelerate the digitization of professional kitchens.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The FURN4COOK<\/strong> project has tested the integration of advanced electronics embedded in the surface layers and materials of the kitchen equipment<\/strong> to facilitate control and access to the options of the digital environment<\/strong>, stimulate more inclusive co-creation activities in the work processes and offer new value utilities to professional and domestic kitchen users.<\/p>\n

Specifically, Eurecat, through the Product Innovation and Multiphysics Simulation Unit<\/a>, has developed an invisible and transparent interface system for the user, on the surface of the countertop and the various elements that make it up, such as the faucet, the lamp, the extractor and even the integration of a surface scale.<\/p>\n

This allows the user to have a larger work space, with greater control and with better information, thanks to the total integration of a data visualization system on the countertop itself.<\/p>\n

All this, in addition, has Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, opening up the possibility of controlling the countertop as if it were an IoT device or even controlling the different elements through voice assistants such as Alexa or Google Assistant.<\/p>\n

The FURN4COOK project has been realized thanks to the collaboration between the different participants, such as the CETT center (Barcelona School of Tourism, Hospitality and Gastronomy)<\/a>, the company ZANIA Design<\/a>, the Foodservice cluster<\/a> and with Foodthinkers<\/a>, all of them coordinated by the AMBIT Cluster<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>
