Furthermore, it <strong>contributes to climate change mitigation<\/strong> by capturing carbon and improving soil structure.<\/p>\n<p>The project <strong>evaluates the properties of biochar<\/strong> and other organic amendments in compliance to current regulations, and also <strong>quantifies its impact<\/strong> on physical, chemical and biological soil indicators, <strong>increasing agricultural productivity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The expected results of BIOSAL include an increase in the soil\u2019s water retention capacity, enhanced microbial biodiversity and higher agricultural productivity, while promoting more sustainable and less chemically dependent farming practices.<\/p>\n<p>The BIOSAL consortium is led by the <a href=\"https:\/\/fundaciodrissa.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Drissa Foundation<\/a>, coordinated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clusterbioenergia.cat\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bioenergy Cluster of Catalonia (CBC)<\/a> and has the participation of <a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/home\/en\">Eurecat<\/a> through the <a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/water-air-soil\/\">Water, Air and Soil (WAS)<\/a> Unit and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idaria.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Id\u00e0ria<\/a> cooperative.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-1 fusion_builder_column_1_3 1_3 fusion-one-third fusion-column-last\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;width:30.6666%;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-column-wrapper-legacy\"><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-2 fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-three\" style=\"--awb-margin-top-small:0px;--awb-margin-right-small:0px;--awb-margin-bottom-small:20px;--awb-margin-left-small:0px;\"><h3 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left\" style=\"margin:0;\">General details<\/h3><span class=\"awb-title-spacer\"><\/span><div class=\"title-sep-container\"><div class=\"title-sep sep-double sep-solid\" style=\"border-color:#e0dede;\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\" style=\"--awb-text-transform:none;\"><p><strong>Project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BIOSAL &#8211;
