T<\/strong>ransforming stroke care through artificial intelligence and advanced digital technologies.<\/strong><\/p>\n

UMBRELLA<\/strong> delivers faster, more accurate, and personalized stroke care<\/strong>, improving outcomes for over a million new patients annually in the EU and nearly 10 million survivors.<\/p>\n

To achieve this, the project collects real-world stroke patient data from various European hospitals<\/strong> and develops AI-driven predictive models to tailor diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation to each individual\u2019s needs<\/strong>. Using a federated platform, hospitals can train and validate algorithms while preserving data privacy.<\/p>\n

The project tackles key challenges in stroke care: treatment delays, lack of personalisation, unequal access to care (especially for women and underserved regions), and knowledge gaps about stroke causes.<\/p>\n

Led by Vall d\u2019Hebron Research Institute (VHIR)<\/a> and Siemens Healthineers<\/a>, UMBRELLA brings together over 20 partners, including leading hospitals, tech companies, researchers, patient advocates, and AI innovators, to pioneer a new era of stroke care in Europe.<\/p>\n

Eurecat takes part in the project through its Digital Health<\/a> Unit, responsible for the harmonisation of data and AI models.<\/p>\n<\/div>

UMBRELLA drives innovation in the healthcare sector through the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, contributing to the development of advanced healthcare infrastructures. A key component is the creation of the U-Platform, a federated platform of real stroke data that integrates information from seven top-tier European medical centers, allowing the development and training of artificial intelligence algorithms while preserving data privacy and sovereignty.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
