Its goal is to address water scarcity and climate-related challenges.<\/p>\n<p>The project analyses the main technical, financial, regulatory and social barriers that hinder the large-scale adoption of these solutions. Based on 23 real-life experiences already in operation, SOLUCIR develops <strong>demonstration studies in collaboration with water utilities and local stakeholders to demonstrate their feasibility, scalability and environmental benefits<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>SOLUCIR integrates <strong>digital tools and artificial intelligence to improve decision-making, assess health and environmental risks, and facilitate new business models based on the circular economy<\/strong>. The project also strengthens the capacity of water service providers and public authorities to support the implementation of more sustainable and resilient water systems.<\/p>\n<p>Eurecat participates in the project through the <a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/applied-artificial-intelligence\/\">Applied Artificial Intelligence technological unit<\/a>, leading the work package focused on digital tools and risk-based decision-support models, and through the <a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/ambits-de-coneixement\/aire-aigua-sols\/\">Water, Air and Soil unit<\/a>, leading one of the demonstration studies linked to existing pilot sites.<\/p>\n<p>The SOLUCIR project, funded by the Horizon Europe programme, is coordinated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwmh.civil.ntua.gr\/\">Urban Water Management and Hydroinformatics Group of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA)<\/a> and brings together a diverse consortium of universities, research and technology organisations, utilities and key stakeholders in the European water sector. By combining scientific knowledge, technological expertise and real-world validation, the project aims to generate tangible impact in the circular and decentralized management of water
