Infraestructura de computaci\u00f3 qu\u00e0ntica per a la innovaci\u00f3 empresarial i la recerca d\u2019excel\u00b7l\u00e8ncia<\/b><\/p>\n

The QUANT-IA project<\/strong> provides Eurecat with an advanced computing infrastructure that emulates quantum computers, a unique facility in Catalonia<\/strong>. This equipment positions the center as a key player in the quantum ecosystem and facilitates the transfer of this technology to the business fabric to solve challenges of extreme complexity that are unreachable for current computing.<\/p>\n

The technological architecture has two key components: a Quantum Gate Emulator<\/b> (up to 34 qubits) and a Digital Annealer<\/b>, designed to tackle combinatorial optimization problems of up to 100,000 variables. This emulation power is complemented by a high-performance computing cluster with latest-generation GPUs<\/strong> for advanced AI research and the development of hybrid quantum-classical technologies.<\/p>\n

In addition to the technological asset, the project aims to attract scientific talent and promote a direct transfer of knowledge to the productive sector.<\/strong> Through collaboration with universities and research centers, the goal is to create a base of professionals experts who help consolidate this technology in Catalonia.<\/p>\n

This infrastructure is articulated through the QuantIA Lab<\/b> of Eurecat, a space from where the center can practically demonstrate the advantages of combining AI with quantum computing and contribute to the maturity and receptivity of companies. The laboratory will allow addressing highly complex computational challenges<\/strong> affecting key sectors such as health and biotechnology, the chemical industry, manufacturing robotics, or smart energy management, among others.<\/p>\n

The Quantum Computing research<\/a> line participates in the project, which receives a grant from the Singulars Institucionals<\/b> program<\/strong> of the Department of Research and Universities<\/strong> of the Generalitat de Catalunya and is co-funded by the European Union through the 2021-2027 ERDF Program of Catalonia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>
