The IMAQUA project develops monitoring and supervision tools allowing for integrated water management, from capture to the point of consumption, ensuring quality and minimising losses during distribution.<\/p>\n

The tools developed will be integrated within an ICT platform comprising a system capable of increasing operability and managing water infrastructure knowledge, tools to monitor and supervise pollutants offline and online (samplers, systems, cyber-physical systems), network supervision tools and support for decision-making so as to improve the efficiency of current management and planning strategies and display simulation tools to provide water managers with access to comprehensive information about all infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The IMAQUA platform will be tested within the supply and distribution networks of Sabadell and Barcelona as a demonstration of the technology, both for distribution management and to plan the resources needed for distribution.<\/p>\n

The IMAQUA solution will serve to reduce the time it takes to determine water pollutants and identify all the pollutants and degradation products present in each zone, along with standardisation, comprehension and management of data from the different water infrastructure sensors and systems.<\/p>\n

IMAQUA will make it possible to improve the quality of water in the distribution network by supervising control parameters, optimising real-time water supply and distribution, providing overall management of decisions and information to make efficient use of resources and to guarantee the health and well-being of the population and the environment, while ensuring compliance with the corresponding regulatory and legislative framework in terms of water resource management and quality, at the regional, local and European levels.<\/p>\n

IMAQUA is a project of the RIS3CAT Water Community<\/a>, coordinated by Eurecat with the involvement of eleven partners: CASSA, Prove\u00efments d\u2019Aigua, Universitat de Girona, BGEO, Aig\u00fces de Barcelona, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cient\u00edficas, Universitat Rovira i Virgili, S::can and ADASA Sistemes.<\/p>\n

Eurecat has a key role in this project in terms of the design of digital and physical tools to manage water quantity and quality. The Smart Management Systems Technology Unit<\/a> leads the project and is responsible for data and information harmonisation. Meanwhile, the Omic Sciences Unit is working on the monitoring and supervision of biological pollutants within the water so as to evaluate quality. Lastly, the Sustainability Unit<\/a> is collaborating with the project through the creation of a leak detection system.<\/p>\n<\/div>
