The IGNITE project has designed and developed an IoT (Internet of Things) platform for the centralised integration and management of all the equipment, systems and sensors that intervene in industrial production processes, guaranteeing the security of the industrial plant’s information, both physically as well as in terms of communication.\u00a0 The project has also dealt with the introduction of intelligence into the machines so that they are able to act automatically in predefined events and the modification of interfaces to allow the integration of third-party services.<\/p>\n

The platform was based on advanced visualisation tools that enable all the information about the plant to be accessed, as well as the processes and products, at the same time as managing the production, adapting the production processes based on the necessary materials and the work to be done. It is thereby easier to detect any quality failure and stoppages and the integration of different perspectives on decision is facilitated.<\/p>\n

The technology developed has been verified in various industrial environments through practical cases in the railway, wine-making, automobile, sensory and packaging industries.<\/p>\n

Eurecat has coordinated the project through its Smart Management Systems Unit<\/a>, which has headed the design and development of the IGNITE platform and has developed the intelligence modules embedded in machinery.<\/p>\n

The centre has also played a relevant role in the design and introduction of the cyber security techniques with the participation of the IT Security Unit<\/a>.<\/p>\n

IGNITE is one of the RIS3CAT Comunitat Ind\u00fastries del Futur (IdF)<\/a> projects coordinated by Eurecat with the participation of Alstom, Codornius, Estamp, Hohner Autom\u00e1ticos, Nexpert, Trety and Zanini Parets. The objective of the Community is to consolidate a hub of innovation that is a leader in efficient, sustainable manufacturing in Catalonia, through the development of a network of skills and pilot plants that will serve to streamline and consolidate the value chain of industrial Research, Development and Innovation.<\/p>\n<\/div>
