The project will end up with the required knowledge to develop 3rd Gen AHSS optimized for crash together with new and more accurate finite element models to predict the crash behavior of these materials.<\/p>\n<p>The Crash&amp;Tough project is led by <a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/field-of-knowledge\/materials-metallics-ceramics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eurecat\u2019s Unit of Metallic and Ceramic Materials<\/a> and it is developed together relevant institutions within the automotive and steel sectors.<\/p>\n<p>The consortium is formed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ltu.se\/?l=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lule\u00e5 University of Technology<\/a>, the steelmakers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voestalpine.com\/group\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">voestalpine<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.arcelormittal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ArcelorMittal<\/a> and the research area of the carmaker FIAT (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crf.it\/EN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Centro Ricerche Fiat<\/a>). This consortium presents a solid R&amp;D background and experience in the participation in European multi-partner projects. Moreover, it covers the whole value chain of the automotive sector, from research and development of new materials to their application in automobile, which ensures that results find more effectively
