Educational programme that aims to spread the issues related to Critical Raw Materials (CRM) through an in-field training programme<\/strong>, and a software tool to support engineers and industrial designers to promote a more responsible and sustainable materials selection process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Currently, materials are selected in mechanical design with no integration among performance, supply risks and sustainability requirements.<\/p>\n

To fill this gap, DERMAP project develops pilot training instruments with educational content focused on the selection of materials<\/strong>, based on CRM issues. Within the framework of the project, industrial courses are promoted to implement these tools and make designers aware about CRM related problems, as well as support and supervision tasks for the selected industrial companies which act as evaluators of the new tools.<\/p>\n

Eurecat technology centre, through its Metallic and Ceramic Materials Technology Unit<\/a>, has developed the software that assists in the selection of alloys using the perspective of critical raw materials. The project also counts with the participation of the University of Padua<\/a>, the University of Mondragon<\/a>, the Science and Technology University (AGH)<\/a>, Swerea SWECAST AB<\/a>, Enginsoft<\/a>, Zanardi Fonderie<\/a>, the \u00a0SPRING<\/a> consortium and the General Council of Chambers of Commerce of Catalonia<\/a>.<\/p>\n
