The results showed promising performance, with the tested materials combining high tensile strength with good formability.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation also covered the development of a crash beam prototype using different advanced steel grades. Further testing, including drop-tower and grid tests, will help evaluate the mechanical behaviour and formability of the manufactured components.<\/p>\n<p>Sup3rForm aims to exploit the potential of third-generation Q&amp;P and medium-manganese steels for lightweight structural applications in future mobility. By combining material characterisation, modelling and simulation with industrial validation, the project is working to facilitate the adoption of advanced steels in automotive manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>The results presented at Car Body Parts 2026 demonstrate the importance of validating these materials under real manufacturing conditions, paving the way for lighter components and reduced vehicle CO\u2082 emissions without compromising safety.<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":30,"featured_media":1147498,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2440,2647],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1147501","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-projects","category-sup3rform-en"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.7 -
