Robinhat<\/strong> and the Eurecat<\/a><\/strong> technology centre have together devised a surgical cap<\/strong> for doctors and surgeons which enables live connections and recording operations so that the videos can be analysed afterwards. Its prototype will be on show for the first time at this year\u2019s Mobile World Congress<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Called RobinCam<\/strong>, it is a patented cap featuring textile technology and new materials which will enable live connection to remote sites to perform diagnoses and live use of surgical techniques and procedures.<\/p>\n

The cap is equipped with textile technology which, for example, makes it possible to turn on its recording mechanism by waving your hand over it with no need to touch it and thus maintain hygiene and safety standards in the operating theatre.<\/p>\n

It is \u201ca groundbreaking product which makes it easier for the surgeon to record and log their surgical procedures using a cap which they have to wear in the operating theatre in any case,\u201d says Robinhat\u2019s CEO Javier Garrido. He adds that RobinCam \u201ccan be used to record, store and share content and in the future add more features delivering access to medical knowledge and training in a more affordable way.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Eurecat technology centre \u201chas developed the hardware and electronics from an initial proof of concept which allowed validation of the product\u2019s viability to its development for production,\u201d points out Jos\u00e9 Antonio Gago, Eurecat\u2019s Product Innovation & Design Thinking Services Market Manager.<\/p>\n
