How to undertake visitor flow management initiatives to enhance the tourist experience<\/a>\u2019 unpacked the guidelines for sustainable tourism flow management and leisure-related mobility systems at tourist destinations for the Costa Daurada\u2019s tourism practitioners, managers and businesses.<\/p>\nThe issues discussed in the session led by Xavier Cazorla, an environmentalist and consultant in ecotourism and sustainable tourism, included committing to local experiential leisure, smart and responsible management of natural areas, transport options which cut carbon footprints and accessible ecotourism. As Cazorla points out, \u201cmobility is a key concern in aspects such as the climate emergency, more sustainable visitor access to nearby or more distant leisure venues, and also the accessibility we need to deliver as a social good for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n
The workshop was opened by Cam\u00ed Mendoza, first deputy chair of Tarragona Provincial Council\u2019s Tourist Board. It heard about the visitor flow management put in place to regulate admission to Trabucador beach this summer in Terres de l\u2019Ebre from Jordi L\u00f3pez, coordinator of the Sant Carles de la R\u00e0pita-Delta de l\u2019Ebre Tourist Board and Water Sports Centre.<\/p>\n
Finally, tourism destinations were described based on visitor flows and strategies for evaluating the capacity of a tourist site or resource.<\/p>\n
The Costa Daurada session was held this Wednesday at Rovira i Virgili University\u2019s Faculty of Geography in Vila-seca. Meanwhile the Terres de l\u2019Ebre session will be run on 29 November at the URV\u2019s Terres de l\u2019Ebre Campus in Tortosa, where the case study of the booking system used to enter the \u2018Cova del Llop Mar\u00ed\u2019 during the high season in l\u2019Hospitalet de l\u2019Infant will be presented by S\u00edlvia Carrillo, l\u2019Hospitalet de l\u2019Infant i la Vall de Llors Tourism Officer.<\/p>\n
