This September, the XPatient Barcelona Congress<\/a>\u00a0will gather experts to discuss the opportunities afforded by new technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence and automation, to simplify and expedite healthcare processes as this is increasingly essential due to Covid-19.<\/p>\n

The congress will host a roundtable about the lessons learned from Covid-19 and the role of technology in helping to tackle the pandemic. It will feature Rosa Rom\u00e0, director of the Catalan Health Service\u2019s Customer Care, Innovation and Users Unit; Felip Miralles, Digital Health director at Eurecat; Carolina Garcia-Vidal, senior specialist in the Infectious Diseases Department at Hospital Cl\u00ednic; Ricard Ferrer, head of the Intensive Care Medicine Department at Vall d\u2019Hebron University Hospital, and S\u00edlvia Roura, assistant manager of CAPSBE.<\/p>\n

Covid-19 \u201chas fast-tracked the availability of new tools and resources to manage and prevent epidemics and other public health challenges,\u201d says Felip Miralles. \u201cThey also enable us to communicate, treat and empower patients at all stages of their care journey, ranging from prevention, early diagnosis and traceability to follow-up, home care and potential transitions from home to hospital and vice versa.\u201d<\/p>\n

The programme additionally includes presentations and panel discussions on how the use of technology and non-face-to-face visits impact the patient\u2019s experience and their relationship with healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n

The congress is to showcase innovative approaches and methodologies embracing the patient\u2019s perspective which have been chosen in its call for projects together with other initiatives, technologies and lessons drawn from the Covid-19 crisis.<\/p>\n

The XPatient Barcelona Congress is to be held on 28-29 September and is organised by the Eurecat technology centre, Hospital Cl\u00ednic de Barcelona and the TIC Salut Social Foundation with the support of the XPA Barcelona (Patient Experience) community of practice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
