CETT<\/strong>, the leading higher education school in Tourism, Hospitality and Gastronomy and affiliated to the University of Barcelona, and the\u00a0Eurecat<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0technology centre are teaming up to drive innovation in higher education in the shape of programmes involving\u00a0digital and technological development of tourism, hospitality and gastronomy<\/strong> by transferring both institutions\u2019 skills and knowhow.<\/p>\n

The partnership will make it possible to develop new content, teaching methods and training programmes tailored to the tourism business community\u2019s needs coupled with higher education opportunities and activities for enterprises. The agreement will enable continuous updating of existing CETT degrees such as Tourism while also rolling out new programmes including the degree in Digital Business and Innovation in Tourism and the Official Master\u2019s Degree in Development and Launch of Tourism Projects.<\/p>\n

It will further unlock knowledge sharing by setting up collaborative forums for lecturers and businesspeople, engaging businesses in technology and tourism research and innovation projects, pinpointing new training opportunities and jointly shaping and undertaking international applied research projects.<\/p>\n

The partnership agreement was signed by Dr Maria Abellanet i Meya, the CEO of CETT, and Xavier L\u00f3pez, Eurecat\u2019s Chief Operating and Corporate Officer.<\/p>\n

\u201cInnovation and technology are crucial to rebuilding the tourism industry and its responsible and sustainable development, key concepts which underpin our outstanding partnership to address the digital economy as an opening for innovation and creativity,\u201d said Maria Abellanet i Meya. \u201cIt means we can train people who are able to adapt, anticipate and meet the challenges and changes in tourism resulting from the technological evolution and digital transition of the economy, business and society while also hardwiring an ethical and humanistic vision of tourism.\u201d<\/p>\n
