Kivnon<\/strong>, a firm specialising in developing innovative\u00a0mobile robotics<\/strong>, is to embed Eurecat<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0autonomous mobility technology in some of its fleets. This technology is designed to make factories more flexible and smarter to adapt to changes in production processes characteristic of advanced industrial environments.<\/p>\n

The new solution involves building new sensors into Kivnon\u2019s mobile robots consisting of 3D cameras, LiDAR and lasers which \u201cmake navigation much safer and more efficient,\u201d says Pere Padr\u00f3s, Kivnon\u2019s Innovation Manager.<\/p>\n

It will also feature \u201ca higher layer of intelligence which manages the fleet based on the customer\u2019s approach to running their factory.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter more than a decade doing R&D in autonomous robotics for a range of applications, we are excited to see how we can help a business like Kivnon by jointly developing smart industrial solutions for a flexible and connected factory,\u201d comments Daniel Serrano, the director of Eurecat\u2019s Robotics and Automation Unit.<\/p>\n

Eurecat \u201chas brought extensive knowhow about the technology which has greatly helped to shorten the project\u2019s completion time,\u201d notes Pere Padr\u00f3s. \u201cIt has also provided the process knowledge which a business requires to implement it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou need a lot of flexibility to be able to steer the technology towards the product you want,\u201d explains Padr\u00f3s. He underlines Eurecat\u2019s cooperation \u201cin transferring the technology and intellectual property\u201d of the new solution.<\/p>\n
