The\u00a0Eurecat<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0technology centre is taking part in the\u00a0LOPEC<\/strong> fair, the premier European event in printed electronics<\/strong>\u00a0which this year is being held online together with the\u00a0SmartEEs2<\/strong> Technology Acceleration Hub, which seeks to make SMEs more competitive by baking in flexible, portable electronics.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Eurecat technology centre\u2019s knowhow in printed electronics means we can increasingly bring this technology to the market geared towards meeting businesses\u2019 needs and challenges,\u201d says Cristina Casellas, technology lead in Eurecat\u2019s Functional Printing and Integrated Devices Unit.<\/p>\n

As part of the SmartEEs2 project in which it is also involved, \u201cEurecat supports enterprises and develops prototypes to see whether technological solutions are viable before investing resources in them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The SmartEEs2 project will have five calls in total in 2020 and 2021 for businesses, SMEs and start-ups in the automotive, logistics, health, energy, packaging and other industries.<\/p>\n

The first three SmartEEs2 calls have targeted projects which hardwire flexible and portable electronics into their products and services. They have also prioritised schemes which help curb the spread of Covid-19 together with solutions in fields such as prevention, diagnosis and treatment.<\/p>\n

The SmartEEs2 project is the prolongation of the SmartEEs initiative and a Digital Innovation HUB (DIH) consisting of eight technology centres, three consultancies and three clusters from nine EU countries.<\/p>\n

Eurecat to enter the Oe-a Competition 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the LOPEC fair the Eurecat technology centre is entering the Oe-a Competition 2021<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in the \u2018Publicly Funded Project Demonstrator\u2019 category with its Optogenerapy project which has developed the first biophotonic implant to administer therapeutic proteins to patients with multiple sclerosis. The winners will be announced this March and will showcase their solutions at an online ceremony on Thursday 15 April.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
