href=\"http:\/\/eurecat.org\/\">Eurecat<\/a>\u00a0technology centre is organising, together with Lule\u00e5 University of Technology in Sweden, the biannual CHS<sup>2<\/sup> conference, the leading international event in hot stamping technology for the manufacture of lightweight sheet metal components with high mechanical performance, with special interest for industries such as automotive to reduce vehicle weight, in light of the challenges arising from the new mobility.<\/p>\n<p>The city of Barcelona will host the event for the first time, from 31 May to 2 June, taking the baton from the series of talks held previously in Kassel, Germany; Lule\u00e5, Sweden; Toronto, Canada; and Atlanta, USA, in a context marked by the importance of the advances in the manufacture of high-performance sheet metal components for light vehicle construction and to respond to the challenges of new mobility, and with the need to consolidate a sustainable and resilient sector.<\/p>\n<p>The opening session will feature the participation of Xavier Aldeguer, the Government of Catalonia\u2019s Director General of Knowledge Transfer; Daniel Casellas, Eurecat\u2019s scientific director and professor at Lule\u00e5 University of Technology, as well as the university professors Mats Oldenburg and Jens Hardell.<\/p>\n<p>The conference will include 90 talks by national and international speakers, addressing the challenges and opportunities generated in the processing of new steel and aluminium using hot stamping technologies, innovative solutions to increase process efficiency, advanced characterisation techniques to reduce the development times for new solutions and new numerical simulation
