They harness sustainable technologies which make it possible to manufacture new products and help companies in their transition towards green chemistry and the circular economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBusinesses and the sector need more sustainable materials,\u201d says Ricard Garcia Valls, a lecturer in chemical engineering at Rovira i Virgili University and director of Eurecat\u2019s Chemical Technology Unit. \u201cSo we are working together on innovative solutions in chemical technologies for industrial decarbonisation, on new raw materials and new synthesis processes on an industrial scale, on using renewable and recyclable polymeric materials in the plastics sector, and on manufacturing new high-value polymers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompanies can also draw on our pilot plants for new chemical processes in Tarragona where they can get the support they need from research in the laboratory and scaling up testing of new chemicals to their production in the industrial plant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eurecat additionally undertakes chemical process modelling with digital tools to generate mathematical models which make it possible to predict the behaviour of materials before the start of laboratory tests.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt our technology centre we support companies in their journey towards a circular and green economy, helping them to mitigate their environmental impact in line with society\u2019s expectations and to meet the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals,\u201d adds Pablo Ramos, head of Business Development for the chemical industry at Eurecat.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":12,"featured_media":136101,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2280,2298,743,2330,433],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-136735","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-chemical","category-energy","category-press-notes-en","category-quimica-en","category-sustainability"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
