Generative AI will play a prominent role at the congress which will explore its technological underpinnings and discuss how far its footprint can go.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe emergence of generative AI, epitomised by the famed ChatGPT, has really put AI at the heart of the conversation,\u201d says Joan Mas, director of CIDAI and Eurecat\u2019s Digital Division. Furthermore, and unlike other technology waves which have had a greater or lesser effect, \u201cit is more than likely that we will have to live with the disruptive potential which this form of artificial intelligence brings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hence the AI &amp; Big Data Congress will be a chance to listen to experts who will share their views on the impact which the widespread use of tools based on artificial intelligence, and especially generative AI, will have on business and the workplace along with the ethical and regulatory implications this may entail. It will also run a session on AI explainability, an aspect that is increasingly essential for the reliability of AI-based applications.<\/p>\n<p>There will additionally be a section setting out examples of the intersection between artificial intelligence and cybersecurity which illustrate how AI can be harnessed to better protect the digital assets of businesses, institutions and the public at large coupled with presentations of several use cases showing how AI is becoming more and more pervasive.<\/p>\n<p>The congress will also look at the feasibility of data spaces, an emerging concept in Europe which seeks to put in place the technological tools to roll out the data-driven economy against a backdrop of European sovereignty.<\/p>\n<p>As in previous years, the event is to host a venue for showcasing outstanding entrepreneurial initiatives featuring a selection of leading start-ups and scale-ups in using artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>Roger Torrent, Catalan Minister for Business and Employment, Xavier Torra, chair of Eurecat, and Barcelona City Council will kick off the 2023 AI &amp; Big Data Congress which is to be held entirely in person over its two days.<\/p>\n<p>The opening talk at the congress will be given by Inma Mart\u00ednez, an internationally renowned expert in digital technologies and AI and chair and member of several advisory groups including for the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence and the State Secretariat for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>The congress on artificial intelligence and big data in the business sector organised by the Centre of Innovation for Data Tech and Artificial Intelligence (CIDAI) and the Eurecat technology centre as part of Catalonia.AI<strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0the Artificial Intelligence Strategy of Catalonia, is sponsored by the Catalan Government, CaixaBank Tech, Huawei, NTT DATA, SAP, M47 Labs and Tokiota.
