{"id":142198,"date":"2023-07-05T12:31:49","date_gmt":"2023-07-05T10:31:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/?p=142198"},"modified":"2023-10-26T14:03:51","modified_gmt":"2023-10-26T12:03:51","slug":"eurecat-technology-centre-to-draw-up-emotional-map-of-the-cruilla-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/eurecat-technology-centre-to-draw-up-emotional-map-of-the-cruilla-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Eurecat technology centre to draw up emotional map of the Cru\u00eflla Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"fusion-fullwidth fullwidth-box fusion-builder-row-1 fusion-flex-container has-pattern-background has-mask-background nonhundred-percent-fullwidth non-hundred-percent-height-scrolling\" style=\"--awb-border-radius-top-left:0px;--awb-border-radius-top-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-left:0px;--awb-flex-wrap:wrap;\" ><div class=\"fusion-builder-row fusion-row fusion-flex-align-items-flex-start fusion-flex-content-wrap\" style=\"max-width:1424.8px;margin-left: calc(-4% \/ 2 );margin-right: calc(-4% \/ 2 );\"><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-0 fusion_builder_column_1_1 1_1 fusion-flex-column\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;--awb-width-large:100%;--awb-margin-top-large:0px;--awb-spacing-right-large:1.92%;--awb-margin-bottom-large:20px;--awb-spacing-left-large:1.92%;--awb-width-medium:100%;--awb-order-medium:0;--awb-spacing-right-medium:1.92%;--awb-spacing-left-medium:1.92%;--awb-width-small:100%;--awb-order-small:0;--awb-spacing-right-small:1.92%;--awb-spacing-left-small:1.92%;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-column-has-shadow fusion-flex-justify-content-flex-start fusion-content-layout-column\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-1\"><p>The Eurecat technology centre is to conduct a study at this year\u2019s Cru\u00eflla Festival, held from 5-8 July in Barcelona, which will make it possible to draw up an emotional map of the event in order to devise a procedure for neuroscientific assessment of participants\u2019 experience at the activities on offer.<\/p>\n<p>The emergence of wearable devices \u201cmeans we can record several participants attending a live event at the same time and our interest lies in seeing to what extent we can get reliable and robust measurements at a festival event where there are several activities and participants move between them,\u201d says Eurecat researcher Alexandre Pereda, a specialist in neuroscience and cognitive psychology research.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPhysiological measurements have been widely used to assess with high time precision what excites us or grabs our attention in various audiovisual experiences, including live events where attendees\u2019 movements are very limited.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo our knowledge, there is very little research combining physiological signals and spatial data during live event attendance, albeit the idea of emotional mapping has been used in urban planning with qualitative and physiological measurements.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Calculating the carbon footprint for the festival\u2019s sustainability<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eurecat is also to calculate the carbon footprint derived from organising and running the festival to enable Endesa, which is the event\u2019s sustainable sponsor, and Cru\u00eflla to put in place actions to offset the greenhouse gas emissions generated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe calculation will include the emissions resulting from setting up, running and closing the festival,\u201d says David S\u00e1nchez Domene, a researcher in Eurecat\u2019s Sustainability Area.
