This event brought together leading experts to explore the latest advancements in numerical methods and multidisciplinary computational techniques.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Joan Baiges<\/strong>, project partner from the <strong>International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cimne.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>CIMNE<\/strong><\/a><strong>)<\/strong>, represented the SuPreAM team in the session titled <em>\u201cAdvances in Numerical Methods for Multiphysics Problems Involving Moving Boundaries and Interfaces I\u201d.<\/em> He delivered a presentation entitled <strong><em>\u201cAdaptive Numerical Simulation of Electro Discharge Machining Finishing Operations Using an Embedded Approach\u201d,<\/em><\/strong> highlighting key research outcomes developed within the SuPreAM project.<\/p>\n<p>SuPreAM has the objective to\u00a0<strong>optimise the surface integrity<\/strong>\u00a0of Additive Manufactured and Machined steel components and to\u00a0<strong>reduce manufacturing expenditures<\/strong>\u00a0at the steel industrial sector by\u00a0<strong>minimising<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>the material scrap<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>reducing the number of re-processing loops\u00a0<\/strong>during finishing operations.<\/p>\n<p>The Coupled Problems 2025 conference aims to foster discussion around state-of-the-art mathematical models, numerical strategies, and computational tools for addressing complex, multidisciplinary coupling problems in science and engineering.
