The Eurecat<\/a> technology centre, in partnership with the Open Source Robotics Foundation and PAL Robotics, is hosting the ROSCon Spain 2025 conference, an event that will gather Robot Operating System (ROS) developers for the first time in Barcelona so they can learn and work together to create robotics applications.<\/p>\n

The applications of Robot Operating System packages encompass a wide spectrum, ranging from advanced perception for object detection, identification and tracking to handling (grasping and controlling objects) and the autonomous mobility of terrestrial, aerial and underwater robots.<\/p>\n

Robot Operating Systems also drive the development of humanoids and systems with cognitive and artificial intelligence capabilities, the coordination of multi-robot systems and the integration of emerging technologies such as large language models, edge computing and digital twins.<\/p>\n

\u201cROSCon Spain 2025 is now firmly established as the preeminent meeting point for the ROS community in Spain where researchers, companies and developers can share experiences and explore state-of-the-art applications in robotics,\u201d says Daniel Serrano, Director of Robotics and Automation at Eurecat.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe conference will showcase the latest innovations in navigation, perception, artificial intelligence and collaborative robotics, connecting the academic and industrial ecosystem with the real needs of the sector,\u201d points out Carlos Rizzo, Head of Mobile Robotics at Eurecat.<\/p>\n

Developers, researchers and businesses will share their projects and ideas<\/strong><\/p>\n

As in previous years, the specific content of the conference, which will take place on 4-5 November, is created by the community and so developers, researchers and businesses are invited to share their projects, ideas and tools with the rest of the ROS ecosystem.<\/p>\n

The deadline for submitting proposals is 3 September, both for taking part in workshops and practical sessions geared towards participatory experiences with high technical input and also for live presentations addressing technical content, use cases, lessons learned and significant developments in the ROS ecosystem.<\/p>\n

The types of content to share with the developer community include new packages, tools or frameworks, improvements to existing packages, real use cases in industrial, educational or research environments, new components or nodes, ROS best practices, communication, testing and reference architectures, groundbreaking developments in artificial intelligence, large language models, edge computing, vision and navigation.<\/p>\n

The event is made possible by the support of various businesses, organisations and groups in the robotics community and ecosystem.
