Organized by the Eurecat<\/a> technology centre, ROSCon Spain will bring together for the first time in Barcelona developers, researchers and companies from around the world linked to the Robot Operating System (ROS). On 4 and 5 November, participants will share the latest developments and experiences in the creation of increasingly advanced and complex robots and applications.<\/p>\n

ROSCon Spain is organized by Eurecat with the support of Open Robotics and around ten sponsors from the sector, among which PAL Robotics, ROBOTNIK and Camp Tecnol\u00f3gico stand out.<\/p>\n

The event features a program of activities developed from proposals by the developer community itself, with this year\u2019s focus particularly on advances in the application of artificial intelligence in robotics.<\/p>\n

ROSCon 2025 will include a first day dedicated to workshops and hands-on sessions focused on participatory experiences with live demonstrations, and a second day centred on talks aimed at sharing knowledge about the operating system, applications and advances developed by various organizations.<\/p>\n

The Director of Robotics and Automation at Eurecat, Daniel Serrano, highlights that \u201cROSCon Spain 2025 is consolidating itself as the main meeting point for the ROS community in the country, where researchers, companies and developers will be able to exchange experiences and explore cutting-edge applications in robotics.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cROSCon Spain will have a very strong representation of both developers and companies, as well as a wide variety of robotic typologies, ranging from industrial and service applications to marine, humanoid and quadruped robots, along with a great diversity of use cases. We expect around three hundred people to come together over two full days to share knowledge and experiences as a community,\u201d adds Daniel Serrano.<\/p>\n

Intelligent robots to conquer increasingly complex environments<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cROSCon Spain highlights the role of applied research in robotics in addressing real challenges in sectors such as industry, logistics and agriculture,\u201d explains Eurecat\u2019s Head of Mobile Robotics, Carlos Rizzo, who notes that \u201cwe are increasingly seeing more autonomous robots, capable of understanding their environment and making intelligent decisions, as a result of the collective progress of the ROS community.\u201d<\/p>\n

The talks will also explore the application of artificial intelligence in robotics through technologies such as neural networks and multimodal vision based on foundation models, as well as the development of intelligent modules for manipulation, navigation and human\u2013robot interaction. The aim is to consolidate robotic intelligence as the basis for more autonomous, efficient and safe decision-making.<\/p>\n

Other key topics of the conference will focus on planning, delving into decision-making and task execution in a flexible manner, motion control and advanced manipulation as essential tools to move towards precise, versatile and efficient robotics.<\/p>\n

The conference will also feature spaces dedicated to training and outreach, as well as to simulation\u2014the step prior to real-world robotic deployment\u2014where demonstrations of simulation environments for aerial, underwater and industrial robots will be showcased.<\/p>\n

In addition, there will be a block dedicated to practical case studies, showing how the Robot Operating System (ROS) is deployed in the real world, with examples of robots for logistics, battery dismantling, social interaction and industrial environments.<\/p>\n
