The H2FORM3G<\/a> project was presented at the 26th<\/sup> French Congress of Mechanics<\/a>, a leading scientific event organised by the French Association of Mechanics (AFM)<\/a> and held from 25\u201329 August in Metz, France. The congress gathers researchers and industry experts to share the latest advances in mechanics and materials science.<\/p>\n

Project partners from ENSTA contributed to the \u201cDamage and Fracture\u201d session with the presentation \u201cInfluence of hydrogen on the mechanical behavior and rupture mechanisms of 3GEN AHSS steels.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/a> The talk introduced H2FORM3G as a key European initiative investigating how hydrogen affects the formability and structural integrity of third-generation advanced high-strength steels (AHSS) for lightweight vehicle applications.<\/p>\n

The project focuses on understanding hydrogen-induced damage mechanisms and developing tools to predict and mitigate cracking and delayed fracture during forming processes. By combining experimental research, modelling, and industrial validation, H2FORM3G aims to improve the reliability and performance of next-generation steel components.<\/p>\n

H2FORM3G supports Europe\u2019s steel and automotive industries by accelerating the adoption of innovative materials, reducing production failures, and improving manufacturing efficiency.
