{"id":38222,"date":"2017-09-22T07:59:19","date_gmt":"2017-09-22T07:59:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/corrosion-automocion\/"},"modified":"2017-09-26T08:59:12","modified_gmt":"2017-09-26T08:59:12","slug":"automotive-corrosion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/automotive-corrosion\/","title":{"rendered":"Eurecat-CTM investigates the corrosion process in automotive industry materials"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Eurecat-CTM investigates the corrosion process in automotive industry materials<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<h2><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The technology centre works with a Korean manufacturer to determine the corrosion resistance of automotive components.<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Barcelona, 22 September 2017.-<\/u><\/strong> Researchers at the Eurecat-CTM technology centre (part of Tecnio) are working in a new project to determine the corrosion resistance of the automotive components to improve their manufacturing process and durability, thanks to an agreement between the Centre and a Korean auto manufacturer.<\/p>\n<p>Eurecat\u2019s Metallic Materials Unit will validate the resistance on various materials following the VDA 233-102 test standard, to evaluate properties on paint and component coating on hot forming, as well as the influence of the coating colour in this process. Eurecat\u2019s researchers will also evaluate the corrosion resistance of various types of welds.<\/p>\n<p>The project, which is expected to last between 9 and 12 months, will improve the knowledge on the effect of different parameters of the corrosion process resistance and lead to higher quality products on the automotive industry, reducing manufacturing costs.<\/p>\n<p>The test will be held exclusively at the Eurecat-CTM premises in Manresa, near Barcelona, and are going to be carried out by a team of highly specialized researchers.
