{"id":41915,"date":"2017-11-15T14:32:17","date_gmt":"2017-11-15T14:32:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/guitarra-composites\/"},"modified":"2017-11-20T15:38:53","modified_gmt":"2017-11-20T15:38:53","slug":"composites-guitar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/composites-guitar\/","title":{"rendered":"Spanish company has made a more robust and sustainable guitar with bio composite"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>COMPOSITE SPAIN<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Spanish company has made a more robust and sustainable guitar with bio composite<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>The company Canivell Guitars and Eurecat have created an instrument with light, stable and robust composite materials.<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>The 20:16 model can be seen this week at the Composite Spain Trade Fair in Madrid.<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Madrid, 14 November 2017<\/u><\/strong>.- The company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aclamguitars.cat\/shop\/es\/\">Canivell Guitars<\/a> is presenting this week at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.compositespain.com\/\">Composite Spain<\/a> Trade Fair in Madrid a prototype of the 20:16 guitar, the first with soundboard made of bio-resin composite materials and linen fibre, designed with the assistance of the Composites Unit at the technological centre <a href=\"http:\/\/eurecat.org\/es\">Eurecat<\/a>, with the aim of creating a \u201csustainable\u201d instrument and \u201cimproving the stability and resistance of the soundboard and studying the effects that this material would have on the sound\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>This is what the head of the Composites Unit at Eurecat (member of Tecnio), Mar\u00eda Eugenia Rodr\u00edguez explains, pointing out that \u201cthis is the first time that Canivell Guitars has used this type of material to substitute carbon fibre or wood\u201d, a component which, the expert adds, \u201cis more sensitive and may deteriorate over time\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Besides, the founding partner of Canivell Guitars, Jordi Canivell, points out that wood \u201cis a material which is easily affected by changes in temperature and humidity, which can lead the instrument to dilate or contract\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In the manufacture of the prototype the company used epoxy bio-resin supplied by Entropy, which is made using infusion techniques and gives the guitar \u201can optimum superficial finish and unique characteristics in terms of weight and durability\u201d and which also allows for a \u201cmore sustainable and less costly\u201d manufacturing process.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>COMPOSITE SPAIN Spanish company has made a more robust and sustainable guitar with bio composite The company Canivell Guitars and Eurecat have created an instrument with light, stable and robust composite materials.
