{"id":78924,"date":"2019-03-13T09:32:08","date_gmt":"2019-03-13T09:32:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/?p=78924"},"modified":"2019-03-21T14:36:39","modified_gmt":"2019-03-21T14:36:39","slug":"experts-cybersecurity-big-data-and-digital-marketing-the-most-sought-after-professionals-tourism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/en\/experts-cybersecurity-big-data-and-digital-marketing-the-most-sought-after-professionals-tourism\/","title":{"rendered":"Experts in cybersecurity, Big Data and digital marketing will be the most sought-after professionals in the tourism industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Digital transformation and the implementation of information and communications technologies (ICT) are bringing a strategic change to the tourism industry: a change that implies the emergence of new professional profiles and the need to update existing ones in order to deal with new challenges in the areas of cybersecurity, Big Data and digital marketing, among others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">On 26 March, at the seventh edition of the <\/span><strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forumturistic.com\/\">TurisTIC<\/a> Forum<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\">, an ICT-oriented event organized by the <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><a href=\"http:\/\/eurecat.org\/es\/\">Eurecat<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> technology centre (a member of Tecnio), a debate will take place under the title of \u201cWill Technology Turn Us into Tourism Superprofessionals?\u201d. <strong>A number of professionals will explain how organizations in the tourism industry are meeting the challenge of digital transformation<\/strong>, and discuss the <strong>new professional profiles the industry requires<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">According to Natalia San Juan, the Senior HR Manager at Meli\u00e1 Hotels International, the most sought-after professionals in the next five years will be those with a background in the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). The roles of these professionals will be oriented towards digital marketing, cybersecurity, user relations, Big Data and the development of websites and mobile apps. \u201cThey will also need to be capable of critical thinking, creative, service-oriented and able to solve problems\u201d, she added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The implementation of ICT in the tourism industry will require people who are \u201ccapable of performing different roles and have the digital know-how to adapt and learn how to use new tools that will make day-to-day management more efficient\u201d,
