Sclerotherapy involves the application of a foam-based medication which acts on the affected vein, causing it to close and gradually disappear.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">VB Devices<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> aims to work with Eurecat to produce the device on an industrial scale and obtain regulatory permission to sell it during the second half of 2019. The goal is to launch the product, which will be marketed under the name <strong>Purespume<\/strong>, during the first quarter of 2020 through an international network of specialist distributors<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The innovation is based on a patent filed by the vascular surgeon <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Enric Roche,<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> who came up with the idea after observing the need for such a device in his daily practice<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> He subsequently set up <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">VB Devices<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> in partnership with <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Federico Grego,<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> who helped Roche develop the device and bring it to market<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201cThe new system consists of a capsule which uses an adapted magnetic agitator to produce foam of the required consistency and quality.
